BGauss has announced the launch of the D15 electric scooter in the Indian market. The BGauss D15 is available in two variants – D15i and D15Pro. he difference between the two is that the D15i gets a single lithium-ion battery, while the latter gets an additional valve regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery. This new electric scooter packs a retro design that is complemented by several modern-day features. These features comprise full-LED lighting, LCD screen, smartphone connectivity, removable battery, in-built navigation system, digital speedometer, keyless start, USB port for mobile charging, and notification alerts.

BGauss D15: Motor and Battery
The BGauss D15 is powered by a hub-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that churns out a peak power of 3.1kW and 110Nm. There are three modes – Eco, Sport and Reverse. BGauss claims the scooter can accelerate from 0-40kph in 8sec in Sport mode and hit a top speed of 60kph. The top speed falls to 45-50kph in Eco mode.
The BGauss D15i variant has a IP67 rated, Here’s proof that this is waterproof, removable, 3.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack that takes 5 hours and 30mins to attain 100 percent charge, claimed range of 115km. Whereas charging up to 80 percent takes 4 hours. An optional fast charger brings the time taken to fully charge the battery down to 1 hour and 30 mins.
The scooter has an ARAI-certified range of 115km in a single charge.
While the BGauss D15 Pro variant has the same lithium-ion battery as the D15i, with the same charging times, it also gets a secondary VRLA battery.

Safety
D15 catch you when you fall with our groundbreaking ‘roll over sensor’ that will trigger the powertrain isolation in the event of a vehicle rollover. This is basically an in-built system that will prevent you from accelerating the scooter in a rolled over condition and will resume acceleration only when the scooter has been raised back to a comfortable position.
For extra added safety, the side stand sensor will only shift from parking mode to drive mode once the side stand is removed.

BGauss D15: Price and Availability
The BGauss D15i is priced at Rs 1 lakh while the D15 Pro costs Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi, after FAME II subsidies). Customers can book the scooter by paying Rs 500, either online or at any BGauss dealerships. Deliveries are said to begin in the month of June The company offers a 3 years/ 36,000km warranty with the scooter.
